F-One Bamboo Surfboards - review

By admin • Mar 25th, 2009 • Category: Articles, Kiteboarding, Reviews

F-One team rider Brian Friedmann reviews the new Bamboo Surfboards
These boards are extremely well constructed and have a very solid feel in the windy choppy conditions of kiting. I’ve been riding the 5′6″ Signature strapped and the 6′ Surf strapless and they both handle really nice.
The 5″6″ is exceptionally responsive to whatever direction you want […]

Best Kiteboarding Spark 2009 - board review

By admin • Mar 21st, 2009 • Category: Articles, Kiteboarding, Reviews

by Matt “Phatty” Mayer
I picked up an 09 Best Spark 134cm from DCKites last month and I’ve ridden it for a few sessions now. Watch out for DCKites’ false advertising; it was supposed to be an 08 After losing my LF Proof 151, the Spark became my 2nd kiteboard. It has the standard Best […]

Flysurfer Psycho 4 Review

By admin • Mar 19th, 2009 • Category: Articles, Kiteboarding, Reviews

By “Foil” Brian Lee
For those of you who don’t know me, I’ve been flying Flysurfer kites for about 2 years now. I started with Psycho3, then Speed2 and later Pulse2. I ordered Psycho4 (P4 here after) 10M as soon as I heard that it was available in US. It was risky since there weren’t that […]

By admin • Feb 7th, 2009 • Category: Articles, Kiteboarding

It looks like soon there will be no excuse left for not surfing through the whole year even in the coldest places on Earth. After Rip Curls battery heated H-Bomb wetsuit, we are offered another solution - a dry suit for surfing.  […]

Kiteboarding on the Potomac

By admin • Aug 14th, 2008 • Category: Articles, Kiteboarding

Since some people seem to be interested in the Potomac lately, thought I’d post a thread.
The Potomac is kiteable with some caveats. The best “launches” (I use that term loosely) are Spectator Beach (south of the Wilson Bridge) and TC Williams Boathouse (in Old Town). Spectator Beach is a pull off of the GW Parkway about a mile or so south of Belle Haven Marina. Here is a pic of the launch.

I picked up an 08 rise a few weeks ago and am extremely impressed with the kite. I have been able to get out on a it a number of times so far and so I feel that by this point I have a very good feel for the kite. However our winds […]

By admin • Jun 13th, 2008 • Category: Articles, Kiteboarding, Reviews

This weekend, John O’leary, let me and Toma test his kites F-One Bandit. I heard many things about the kite and its shape and I was very curious about it. Enough to motivate me to drive for 2.5 hours to Dewey.
First: the kites look sick. I really liked the actual colors and graphics. They are […]
