I went to the KW with Audra, for a week of decompression. We scored two cheap air tickets with Jetblue. 169 roundtrip to Fort Lauderdale. (thank you Eugene for the tip)
The initial plan was to stay in Miami for one day and check the area and spend the rest of the time in the Keys.
First day
We stayed one night in Miami and i went to check some spots that Misha suggested. The one next to W hotel is really nice. Not for beginers but a nice spot for sure. The wind was lite so we took off and drove to the keys. We had dinner at Robbie’s in Islamorada. Awesome food.

Second day:
First stop was Islamorada. We checked out one of the local kb stores for directions and info, plus Audra wanted to book some lessons. The name of the shop is The other side. Nice crew, Shana and Mike Walsh are the owners.
We found out that everyone will ride Annes park and we will find their instructors there. We went to the park. There are two parking lots. It seams that the kiters were using the southern parking lot. Very small. And it could fit maximum 10 cars. The beach was small two. Half the size of Brownies. More than 15 kites on the shore.
We talked with the Otherside instructor, Noel. Cool guy, but he was fully booked for that day.

I decided to teach Audra. I asked him where we can play out of everyone’s way and he showed me a sandbar located on the northern side where he was teaching. The wind was SE, plus 20. I rigged a 10 Bandit Tres and went out. I played a little and after that we started the lesson. Audra did again the bodydragging part, relaunch, bodydrag with a board upwind. We were out for a good time. The spot was perfect to learn. Shallow blue water, plenty of space. That was the first day.

Third day:
Started with the 10 m and we ended up overpowered. I rigged my 7 and was a lot of fun. Audra got up on a board for a few times. Right after that a front came in and the wind direction changed of shore. We packed in the middle of the storm. We had lunch at Village Gourmet. Good salad and fish tacos.
We took of to Key West. Scored an amazing sunset.

Fourth day:
Contacted kitehouse for rates on the lessons and we stoped and checked Paul’s Menta coffee shop.

If you want a good breakfast and a nice cafe con leche this is the spot to get it. Plus kiters get a discount. Paul was really good and gave us good info.

That day we drove to Marathone Keys where is an F-one school. We got a boat ride with Aaron to a flat area where Audra tried again to get up on the board.
The wind was really lite but she managed to get up on the board and ride on one side. We stayed out for a couple of hours.
It was a little chilly for shorties that day. 67 degrees.

Fifth day:
Went back to Islamorada but no wind. Back to the KW. Sightseeing. Dinner at Seven Fish. Awesome place and out from the tourist path.
Sixth day:
Islamorada. Very lite and not enough for my 10. Played a little with the kite and drove back to Fort Lauderdale.
