I showed up at New Road at 9:45 am.

Foil Brian and Kitemad Brian were there. The wind was blowing 30-35 and gusting a lot higher.
It was dead onshore.

Since none of us had a deathwish, the Brians headed to Henlopen, where the wind direction would be better, the beach wider, and imminent death less likely.

I headed to grab some caffeine. Vali called. “Oh, so you are at the coffee store? Pick me something up to eat, and none of that sweet shit either, bitch.”

I bought him a bagel.

When Vali, Jacques, Victor, Liz and Justin all showed up at New Road and decided the same thing…it was way too dangerous there.

We caravanned over to Henlopen. After getting lost a few times, we finally found the beach.

Wind was cranking, as it was at New Road….high 20s to mid 30s, gusting higher. Small kites were the order of the day. I rigged my 7m Waroo.

Liz and Vali traded off on her 5m Bandit. It’s funny to watch someone on a kite that small…and then boost on it. It looks like a toy.
Brians and Kris10, others were on 7s and 8s. Crazy Jacques threw up his 10m.

It was a great day, if gusty, and on a beautiful beach. I hadn’t kited since mid-November, so it was certainly an interesting welcome back after being off for a while.

Good kiting, nuking winds, good friends, and hot dogs on the grill! Yes, you can grill in 30 knots (provided it’s sheltered behind a dune, but still)….

THANK YOU FOIL BRIAN FOR THE AWESOME HOT DOGS AFTER KITING! You are my hero!

Hey Kitemad Brian, thanks for that hot action shot of me detangling my lines on the beach after my kite went down in the water and inverted! I’ve got mad detangling skillz! Laughing

As I was leaving, Tyler showed up…he said he’d actually kited at New Road, so I would like to hear about that…you are nuts!

Vali made me buy him a bagel, he ate all of Brian’s hot dogs, and he rode Liz’s kite all day. That guy is a true beach bum. Did you borrow anyone’s underwear too? Twisted Evil
