Many participants practice the sport on the ocean or other “flat” water,” but the Board Rats first got the idea to take to the rapids at Great Falls over the summer and have been practicing there ever since.

According to Wayne “Cobra” Cohen, Nick Cohen’s father and fellow member of the Board Rats, group members often get double-takes when they practice the unusual-looking sport at Great Falls.

“It’s brand new and there are very few people down there that do it at all,” said Cohen. “You get a ton of questions like, ‘Oh my Gosh, what is that?”
