The Best Snowkite Lesson Center, Utah, at Powder Mountain

· A full range of exciting courses and clinics ranging from beginner to pro level!
· Snowkiting terrain park with rails, kickers, and features
· Access to dedicated snowkiting area at Powder Mountain Resort.
· All classes take place at the Powder Mountain snowkite area.
· Students meet at the Mountain Adventure Center for transportation to and from the kite area.
· Harnesses, kites and bars are provided for use during the lessons, and instruction will be given with radio bibs. Students will need to have their own skis or snowboards, and a helmet. Ski or Snowboard are available at Powder Mt Helmets are required!

Why Powder Mountain? Located only 19 miles Northeast of Ogden, Utah, 55 miles North of the Salt Lake International Airport, Powder Mountain is one of the best areas in Utah to snowkite due to its high elevation, exposure to wind, and suitable riding areas. The Powder Mountain Ski Resort is the first, and only, ski resort to offer a snowkite pass and an area dedicated exclusively for snowkiting. The area between the Hidden Lake parking lot and the tower near the Sunrise lift has ideal conditions for snowkiting – sloping terrain without obstacles, and frequent winds. The $20 snowkite pass provides access to this area via the Sunrise lift and one ride up Hidden Lake at the end of the day. There is also a season snowkite pass available for $300.

Powder Mountain Description: An open ridge that sits just above tree line on the backside of the Powder Mountain Ski Resort. Sitting just under 9,000 feet, Powder Mountain lives up to its name with heavy annual snowfall. Lift served skiing and warming lodges add to the resort ambience, just steps away from the out of bounds snowkiting.

Conditions: Although the most common wind directions are south, southwest, and west, Powder Mountain can be ridden in all directions.

Skill Level: Beginner to Expert

Facilities: Warming Huts, restaurants and lodging are available on the mountain near the riding area. Lift -served skiing is available along with snow cat tours.

Restrictions: Must have a valid Powder Mt. lift pass. Snowkite passes are only $20 dollar a day or Snowkite Season pass are $300

Other: No Kiting in bounds on ski runs. Wear safety leashes to prevent accidental release into lift towers. Always be aware of non-powered skiers and snowboarders.

Snowkiting at Powder Mountain: Snowkite Lift Pass is $20 a day (or $300 for the season). (If for some reason, there’s no wind, riders can upgrade a day pass to all area a Ski Day or Half-Day Pass for a $20 discount.)

Directions to Powder Mountain: 55 miles north of Salt Lakes international airport. Take I-15 North to Ogden’s 12th Street exit. Turn east and follow the signs through Ogden Canyon. At Pineview reservoir take a left on highway 158 and follow it up to the top of Powder Mountain. Kiting is at the upper lodge near the Sunrise Poma lift. Hike out or ride lifts to the launch zone.
