Chesapeake Bay Bridge Delays for Next Few Weeks

One lane on the eastbound side of the Bay Bridge is going to be closed for 2 to 3 weeks due to repairs/inspections resulting from that truck going off the other week.

Assateague summer kiteboarding

Assateague is cursed for me. I swear it. The last time I rode there, I was about a mile upwind of the launch when my brand new kite went down on a botched jump. It hit the water and the canopy split straight down the middle near the center strut from the leading edge to the trailing edge.



Kiteboarding on the Potomac

Since some people seem to be interested in the Potomac lately, thought I’d post a thread.
The Potomac is kiteable with some caveats.The best “launches” (I use that term loosely) are Spectator Beach (south of the Wilson Bridge) and TC Williams Boathouse (in Old Town). Spectator Beach is a pull off of the GW Parkway about a mile or so south of Belle Haven Marina. Here is a pic of the launch.
