South of Mayo 10.19.07

Went to Mayo to meet up with Rad and Bruno, but when i showed up at 1:30 the wind was dying and they were swimmnig. sounded like a nice session prior to that though. I think this was one of those days you could have kited the whole day! instead, i sat and watched the weather radar until i got my butt out of the house at noon. turns out, most, if not all of the heavy storm clouds skipped the bay. they’d skirt right past, mocking you, but didn’t cause much trouble. still, close enough to stay off the water or be prepared to do so quickly! around 2:00 the wind picked up and i was on the water for an hour or so for a nice session on my 11M. bruno and rad joined me. wind dropped, we waited until a little after 4:00 and went out again. this time the wind stayed on until sunset. nice warm steady breeze, but you had to get away from shore a bit to enjoy it and, there was always a cloud coming or going to keep your eye on.
i was impressed with the 11M today. i would have been on my 14M T2, but when i first went out the gusts were over 20 so i rigged the mid-size. when the wind dropped, i just grabbed my lightwind board and felt like i had a lowend very close to my 14. (not exact, mind you…the 14 or mehdy’s 17 would have been smoking, but the 11 is more fun to fly)
good day.
